The Importance of the 7th Tradition
Our Seventh Tradition underscores the principle of self-sufficiency through our personal contributions. By contributing what we can, we not only support our own recovery but also help sustain the broader CoDA community. Here’s how you can be a part of this important tradition:
At Individual Meetings
In every CoDA meeting, we practice the 7th Tradition by making contributions to our groups. This ensures that we remain self-supporting, covering costs like venue rent, literature, and other expenses necessary for our group's activities. Please consider making a donation at each meeting as you are able.
Contributing to CoDA Texas
In the same spirit, CoDA Texas requests that each chapter contributes a 7th Tradition to the State CoDA Chapter. This helps support state-wide activities, workshops, Zoom accounts and other initiatives that benefit all groups within Texas.
How to Contribute
Individual Meetings: Contributions are made under the "7th Tradition" at each meeting.
Quarterly 7th Tradition for CoDA TX: Treasurers from each home group should consider contributing a “7th Tradition” to CoDA Texas. For convenience, donations can be made online. https://www.codatexas.org/donate
Recognition and Acknowledgement
It's important to mention what home groups are contributing so we can acknowledge each chapter at our quarterly business meeting. This recognition not only promotes transparency but also fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility among all groups.
By adhering to the 7th Tradition, we uphold the principle of being fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions. This tradition is fundamental in maintaining the integrity and independence of our fellowship. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to CoDA.
